Qualifications For Admission

BACHELOR’SDEGREESTUDENTS  

Bachelor’s degree candidates are expected:
1.To have received a senior high school education or an equivalent education
2.To submit his/her transcripts and diploma

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The undergraduate study usually takes 4 years. To be granted the undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree, the student must complete the prescribed courses and acquire the needed merits.

MASTER’SDEGREESTUDENTS  

Master’s degree candidates are expected:
1.To have received a college education or an equivalent education
2.To submit his/her diploma and transcripts
3.To submit 2 letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The study period is 3 years. To be granted the graduate diploma and master’s degree, one must complete the prescribed courses and pass the dissertation defense.

DOCTORATESTUDENTS  

PhD candidates are expected:
1.To have received an education of master’s degree or an equivalent education
2.To submit his/her diploma
3.To submit his/her project plan and 2 letters of recommendation from two professors

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The doctoral education is of 3 years’ duration. For one to be granted the doctorate diploma and degree, one must have good examination results and succeed in his/her dissertation defense.

STUDENTS OF GENERAL COURSES  

Applicants are expected:
1.To have received a senior high school education or an equivalent education
2.To submit his/her diploma
3.To submit his/her plan of advanced studies

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The duration of study is one or two years. After completing the courses, the student is awarded the certificate for the completion of general courses.

STUDENTS OF ADVANCED COURSES  

Applicants are expected:
1.To have received an education of master’s degree or an equivalent education
2.To submit his/her diploma and academic records
3.To submit his/her project plan

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The duration of study is half a year or one year. After the completion of the courses, a certificate of advanced studies is awarded.

HSK requirements: Grade 6 for students to take majors of Chinese history, Chinese literature, and philosophy; Grade 3 for students to take other majors, including undergraduate study of the Chinese language.

Applicants of the above categories, who do not yet meet the requirements of Chinese proficiency for admission to his/her major study can take language courses at this university and proceed with his/her major study after       he/she has passed the Chinese Language Proficiency Test(HSK) and obtained the required grades.

CHINESE LANGUAGE STUDENTS  

LONG-TERMSTUDENTS

Those having received a senior high school education, submitting the graduation certificate and academic records, and in good health can be admitted after approval.

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

The duration of study is over six months. After the student has completed all the language courses and passed the examinations, he/she is awarded a language certificate.

SHORT-TERMSTUDENTS

All candidates holding a high school certificate can apply for admission. If an organization or a unit has the plan to send a group of students, the number should be more than 10 and their Chinese proficiency is nearly the    same. If it is a big group and their Chinese proficiency is not at the same level, they can be divided into different groups according to their levels of Chinese after test. Any individual applicant can join a class in the middle of a  course if he/she applied at a suitable time and submit his/her basic background.

DURATION AND COMPLETION OF STUDIES, AWARDING OF DEGREES：

For short-term students, either in group or individually, the duration is decided by the students themselves according to their own plan. After the completion of the courses, a certificate is awarded.

Note: In accordance with the university regulations, a degree student who has not obtained the diploma or degree due to his/her personal reasons is given a course-completion certificate.
